Sycamore Partners and Franchise Group on Friday placed bids to take over Kohl's Corp.

Kohl's reported its financial results for the first quarter on Thursday. The stock closed up nearly 5.0%.

The company, analysts believe, will register lower revenue and higher loss in its second-quarter earnings report.
